Global Sourcing and the industrialization of software development

Paper presented at the Software Engineering 2009 (SE2009) on 4 March 2009

The need to optimise the globally distributed software development has increased in recent years. In addition, global sourcing as a form of a global resource management in regard to resource availability and competencies is a common strategy in software development. The industrialization of software development, especially in the context of global sourcing, offers significant advantages, which is demonstrated in this paper.
